Growing brains want to explore, investigate, have imaginative adventures! Hocus Pocus Play is all about encouraging the imagination and using the senses. It’s also about giving parents and carers somewhere to relax and unwind with excellent coffee and delicious food for all the family.

Your safety and comfort is our top priority, so we clean the whole place thoroughly after each play session.

We have reduced our maximum occupancy to 25 people (adults + children) during the current pandemic, so you know that contact with other people will be limited, and there is lots of space for social distancing. There is also the option to book a private play session without other groups if you prefer.

All our equipment is designed to get children thinking, imagining and using their senses. There are lots of interactive things to do, sensory equipment to enjoy and different spaces to explore.

We currently have 2 sessions per day, 10am to 12pm and 12:45pm to 2:45pm, with a full clean between sessions. All sessions will need to be booked online in advance.

To give everyone plenty of space for comfort and social distancing we have reduced our maximum occupancy to 35 people per session, including adults and children. The size of each individual booking group is restricted by the government guidelines to six people (unless the group falls into one of the exception categories).

Hocus Pocus Play is a bit different to the majority of play areas. We think of it as interactive play because it combines elements of sensory, educational, and imaginative play to engage little brains.

The Fairy Tale House, cave and woodland settings encourage imagination. Kids love making up their own games in our little house.

The trampoline and roundabout let children burn off some energy or relax and gently enjoy the motion.

Lights, colours, sounds, air jets, and bubbles… but not too much at once.

Lots to interact with – puzzles and games, ball mazes, buttons to press to change the colours of the lights and the sound effects.

In addition to this we have tried to make the play area as pleasant as possible for parents and carers, with natural light, lots of seating, and a great range of food and drink.

When the weather is clement there is a lovely garden with a lake view where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and cake. Indoors there are special seating areas for the kids so they can socialise with their friends while they eat if they don’t want to sit with their family.
